2020 was a tough year for a lot of our community, impacting us even further by the loss of both winter and summer seasons for the year and suspending the sport we love.
The great news is that seasons for 2021 will run, at this point in time, as per normal. Winter season for “B” & “C” leagues will run from 15th March through to finals in September.
Try-outs and the draft for “B” & “C” Leagues will be held at the rink on 9th March from 9:00pm onwards. That means on the ice at 9:00pm, please arrive with enough time to get yourselves kitted-up. Try-outs will be a mix of skills-based competency drills and scrimmage.
eSportsdesk memberships for both IHACT and IHA for winter season will open shortly.
Exact membership information required for try-outs and winter season will be posted on the Ice Hockey ACT Facebook page before the end of this week.
Summer season for “D” and Women’s divisions will run from end of September / beginning of October 2021 through to end of March 2022. More details for the summer season will come out in July/August. For those “D” league skaters that have paid full memberships due to the 3 on 3, the Board will be working on events for you, so the membership does not go to waste.
To help facilitate the running of all games for both winter and summer seasons, the Board are calling for expressions of interest for anyone within our amazing hockey community to join a dedicated “Non-Skating Officials” crew. This is specifically for time keeping and scorekeeping for IHACT games, and even more amazing……..it’s a paid gig.
