Ice hockey is built on community — and our community thrives because of volunteers. From the players on the ice to the families in the stands, everyone plays a part in keeping the game alive and enjoyable for all. Whether you’re helping with scorekeeping, lending a hand at events, or lacing up as an on-ice official, every bit of support makes a difference. Volunteering with IHACT is a fun, rewarding way to give back to the sport we all love and to help it grow for future generations.

Referees and Linespeople
Officiating is a great way to get involved right at the heart of the game, not to mention the bonus skating practice! For more details about officiating head to our Officials page.
Scorekeeping
Scorekeeping is critical to the proper running of a game, helping the on ice officials keep track of the action and ensuring results are properly recorded. Check out the Scorekeeping page for more information.
Coaching
Being a coach can be the most rewarding volunteer experience there is. Seeing your team flourish, helping a youngster get past the early skating wobbles or guiding a players development gives an unmatched sense of satisfaction. See the Coaching page for information about getting into coaching.
General Volunteers
We always need help around the place, maybe a working bee in the equipment room, helping manage a team for a tournament or staffing a fundraising event. Any contribution great or small is always very greatly appreciated. Get in touch at info@ihact.org.au if you would like to help out, and keep an eye on our Community Facebook page for calls for help!
