For New Players to Come and Try
Our Junior Development Academy is for non-registered children aged 4-16 years that have very little or no skating experience and have never played Ice Hockey before.
Participants will learn basic skating skills including:
- getting up when they fall,
- how to move on the ice (starting to skate/glide),
- basic stopping techniques, and
- how to move in the equipment.
They will also be introduced to basic game structure, stick and puck skills. All sessions are run by experienced accredited IHACT Junior Coaches and helpers.
By the end of the Development Academy, all attendees should have enough skill and confidence to join our junior leagues at the start of Winter Season (approx. April 2019)
The Junior Development Academy will run every Sunday from 12:15pm-1:30pm between:
- 11 November 2018 – 9 December 2018; and
- 10 February 2019 – 10 March 2019
Skate hire is additional and paid directly to the rink. Spaces are limited so be quick to register your child for this popular summer academy
Player Eligibility: Non- Registered children aged 4 to 16years. Please note: Places are limited.
Where: Phillip Ice Skating Rink
When: Sundays, 12:15pm to 1:30pm (on-ice). Children and parents should arrive at least 30 minutes before to allow time to ‘kit up’
Cost: $220 Plus skate hire (paid directly to the rink)
Inclusions: 10 on-ice training session, all required gear, Insurance and lots of fun!
REGISTRATION on ESPORTSDESK IS A MUST: Due to insurance requirements only children who have registered will be able to attend the Junior Development Academy.
